Ready Meal Production
Our purpose-built factory in Warminster, Wiltshire was opened in April 2000. This modern facility has complete in-line automation and produces an extensive range of frozen ready meals including multi-portion, and individual complete meals. The site produces over 6,000,000 portions per annum from an extensive library of over 350 recipes.

Recipes & Product Development

Based in the Warminster ready meal production unit, the NH Case development team led by our Development Chef originates NPD (new product development) for both NH Case and its clients.
The Product Development Process
Stage 1 - The Brief
A brief is put together incorporating:
- Dietary and nutritional requirements
- Taste & texture profile
- Cost parameters
- Portion size & packaging
- Anticipated weekly/ monthly production volumes
Stage 2 - Recipe Development
From the recipe brief, samples are produced and sent to the customer for evaluation. Once the tasting and evaluation process has been completed and nutritional information is finally agreed, a product launch date is planned.
The Development and Technical teams then formalise the ‘recipe and method’ to be put into production. Staff are trained, and the Development Chef oversees the pre-production runs and testing. Once he is satisfied, the product is then scheduled for full production, a process which he continues to monitor through to the finished product.
Bespoke Development Projects

Previous Bespoke Development Projects
- A special range offering mini-pot portions of “refreshing summer flavours” for a large home delivery customer. Dishes include chicken, pea and mint risotto, lemon pepper chicken, sweet chili pork and asparagus, lemon and basil risotto.
- Adapting an existing range of products to meet nutritional requirements including salt reduction, sugar reduction, removal of trans fats and increased protein levels.
- A new range of hearty soups that are satisfying and delicious meals on their own. Flavours include sweet potato and coconut, pulled ham and pea, Scotch broth with lamb and barley and tomato and basil.
